There’s a few things to know about CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP CHOP. First off, they are a New Haven based act. Second, they make gritty, industrial noisecore. The pronunciation? Well, you can literally say the word “chop” seven times in a row, if you want to be proper, but the artist also can also go by Chop7times or Cx7 for short.

The music? Chop7times has released the first single off their upcoming EP, Extreme Creep. It’s called “Cattle”, and it is a minute and a half of lo-fi, abrasive and glitchy cybergrind that quite literally evokes the mechanical tempo of one chopping repeatedly seven times, but like, seven times that. The video also helps build the track’s aesthetic, finding a pretty clear pairing in the titular animal with our own human beings (it is pretty watchable and not really grotesque as one might anticipate). Either way, there is a cathartic appeal to Chop7times’ first track, and we are interested in seeing what Negative Creep will contain.
